George Lucas To Do More Star Wars Movies?

If you’re a Star Wars fan, then the past year and a half has been pretty slow for you. Ever since Episode III was released, there’s been a big lull as we all wait to see what is next for the franchise. Despite the fact that Lucas has said he’s interested in getting on to direct other things, somehow it seems he will never be able to truly let go. We have heard for a while now that there are two Star Wars TV shows in development, one being a continuation of the Clone Wars animated series, and the other being a live action show. Now, in a recent interview with Fox 411, he explains that there will be two new “live-action films” as well.

“They won’t have members of the Skywalker family as characters… they will be other people of that milieu,” Lucas was quoted as saying. But before you get too excited, he goes on to confirm what you were probably already suspecting: they will be made for TV movies, about an hour in length each. I’m assuming this may just be how they are planning on kicking off the live action series. While I’m not too keen on Lucas being behind the camera yet again, I do think the live action series has potential. With the production quality of today’s TV shows, and the rabid following for sci-fi shows like the new Battlestar Galactica, this is exactly where the Star Wars universe needs to be heading. Oh, and by the way, Lucas also thought that Spider-Man 3 was silly. “Once you take it all apart, there’s not much story, is there?” People in glass houses, George!

  1. i think that Lucas should give up on the Star Wars films, i mean i didnt like the Star Wars prequels, i think that they did it all wrong. they should have trashed episode 1 and combined 2 and 3 together. and then make a sequel after Return of the Jedi. so stop Georgie boy, please!
