Shrek 4 Director Announced (Yes There Will Be A Shrek 4)
Shrek The Third hasn’t even hit theatres yet, and already I’m starting to get annoyed by it. I’m annoyed that it’s going to take up valuable theatre space, I’m annoyed that I’m going to have to see ads for it, and I’m annoyed that it’s going to waste everyone’s time. I’ll admit that I liked the first Shrek movie, but the joke was already dead by the time they did a sequel. Now that they’re back for part 3, I’m even less enthused. And guess what? They’ve just announced that part 4 is in the works.
Yes, that’s right, Shrek 4 is going to be directed by Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo director Mike Mitchell. Sounds like the perfect fit, doesn’t it? From one horribly unfunny movie to another. He also recently directed Sky High and Surviving Christmas (I heard Sky High was decent), but I am just hoping this will be the final nail in the coffin for Shrek. I guess one of the problems with having a hugely successful animated franchise is that no one knows when to quit. The voice actors will certainly never say no… it’s gotta be the easiest money in the world for them. What do you think… are you looking forward to Shrek The Third? Is Shrek 4 just going too far?

Posted by Chopper Sr. on May 7th, 2007I think these movies are absolutely fantastic! My 2 toddlers; ages 2 1/2 and almost 4 love to watch the same movies over and over and I have to say out of all the childrens movies we have all 3 Shrek movies are always fun to watch over and over. The entire fairy tale meets modern days is ingenious. My husband and I laugh every time and know that too much of a good thing spoils it but I am looking forward to the next one - it’s animated so for me it’s no different than Pink Panther (I love PP) or Scooby Doo episodes….if you like the characters then it doesn’t get old.
