I’m not a huge fan of Seth Green’s Adult Swim stop motion series Robot Chicken; I will admit that in theory the idea is kind of cool, but the segments are all so short and a lot of the writing doesn’t go beyond “We’re toys from old cartoons doing naughty things”. That said, I will probably check out the Robot Chicken Star Wars special when it airs in June because they’re making such a big event out of it. The one-hour special has the full involvement of Lucasfilm, and even George Lucas himself will provide some voice talents for the occasion. (Obviously, the folks at Lucasfilm are just desperate to give Star Wars fans something to talk about during this downtime as they prepare for the new Star Wars TV shows.) Other voices will be provided by such personalities as Conan O’Brien, Seth MacFarlane, Malcolm McDowell, Hulk Hogan, James Van Der Beek, Breckin Meyer and Robert Smigel. Check out the trailer for the special below; it airs on Adult Swim on June 17th.
