Ryan Reynolds for Yorick! He would have the jokes exactly right...

Either way, I recently gave up completely on Y:The Last Man. The plot is going nowhere, and just has a series of increasingly-nonsesical twists for no reason.

It's been 3 years, you'd think they'd stop callig her "Agent 355" already. THREE years!

Shia plays a bit of a loser in The Battle Of Shaker Heights, but it's not the same kind of character as Yorick Brown. In my opinion, Yorick has some nerd-ish qualities to him, but he's very much a cool guy. An average guy. I'm honestly more worried that Shia wouldn't serve that side of the character as well. Shia sort of looks the part, but being a huge fan of the comic, for some reason I'm opposed to his playing the part (not that he is or anything). I can't really explain why, but I just don't like the sound of him in that role.

My one big question about this movie is how in the world will it end? Will they try to tie up the entire story by the end of the (presumably approximately) two hours, or will they leave it open for a sequel? That's the problem that comes to mind whenever you take a Vertigo Comics style 60-ish issue book like Y: The Last Man, Transmetropolitan, or Preacher and try to imagine it as a film. They're all too long and involved to try to take the story and tell the entire thing in one film, but if you don't do that, where do you end it, and do you plan for a sequel? I realize that I'm worrying a little too much, but when you get to discussing comics like this that aren't the episodic tales of crime fighters in tights it's more about the characters than the fight scenes, so there's much more room for error if you try to rush or cut down the story.

Even though I haven't actually seen him in any movies, I do think he looks kind of like a dork. His character in Transformers is a nerd as well, right? At least he was in the cartoon show, and I think he will be in the movie as well.

So if he is going to play a dork, I can totally see it. He is pretty young to carry me through a movie though, and with David Goyer producing, I can hardly pretend to be interested in this. I would like to check out the comic book but there are like 30 issues and they each cost the same as a DVD. No way José!
