New HD Trailer for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
A new trailer has just popped up online for the next Harry Potter movie, which is now about three months away from release. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is the long-awaited fifth installment, and it finds Harry and the gang continuing to mature as a new teacher vows to straighten out Hogwart’s by ruling with an iron fist. Once again, Harry is thrust further into his struggle with Voldemort, but more importantly… this time he actually kisses a girl!
The Harry Potter franchise has been fairly consistent over the years… perhaps a little too consistent. Every time another movie comes along, we’re promised that it’s going to have a different feel and it never really breaks from the mold. Don’t get me wrong, they’re enjoyable movies, but it’s pretty hard not to grow tired of some of the formulas. I’m not convinced this will mark a turning point in the series, but the one thing this new trailer did was promise a ton of epic action and special effects. I can only hope it will finally leave behind most of the typical shenanigans of them being awkward kids at school, and start dealing with them as adults. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix hits theatres on July 13th.

I think the first two are definitely in the same mold, but they’ve been getting darker since three, four especially so. Come on, death and the rebirth of the Dark Lord? And this looks ridiculously cool… I’m guessing/hoping it’ll be the best of the series so far. I am totally amped on Harry Potter right now though, as I am finally reading the books (about to start Prisoner of Azkaban).
Posted by Zedd on April 26th, 2007I liked the stuff with Valdemort in the last movie, but I hated the school dance and all that crap. The trailer does look pretty awesome but I don’t want to get my hopes up only to find out it’s more of the same.
Posted by Sean on April 26th, 2007Take it from me guys (I’ve read all the books), they all follow the same formula, but I would blame JK Rowling for this. She may have come up with a cool story, but she’s not a good writer at all. That being said, I think this may be the best film of the series.
