Broken Lizard Moving Forward on Super Troopers 2
I have to admit, I don’t completely understand the appeal of the Broken Lizard comedy troupe and their series of comedies that include Super Troopers, Club Dread and Beerfest (and another earlier flick called Puddle Cruiser that no one ever mentions). I saw Super Troopers and part of Club Dread and that was enough for me… I didn’t find either of them remotely funny. Needless to say, I didn’t see Beerfest and I don’t think anyone else did either as it pretty much bombed at the box office. Now it looks like the Lizards may be going “back to the well”, so to speak, and looking at bringing Super Troopers 2 to the big screen. Oh goody.
Apparently they’ve been reluctant to do a sequel since they didn’t want to get “locked into being thought of as the Super Troopers guys”. At this point, I think it makes sense to go back to something that was most successful for them. But will audiences respond? They’re also looking at pitching some new ideas to Warner Bros, but according to Paul Soter (who is currently directing a comedy of his own called Watching The Detectives), they need to be more creative now to sell the studios on some of their ideas. “We’re talking about a project that we star in with Johnny Knoxville, maybe that’s something a studio can feel a little bit better about it.” So what do you say, Super Troopers 2… yay or nay?

Super Troopers ruled. Club Dread had its moments as did Beerfest. Dukes of Hazzard was pretty lame, but really, besides the nostalgia factor, the original show was pretty much the same thing. Minus the boobies. I will continue to at least rent their stuff.

Its not masterpiece of plot or anything. just a goofy comedy that is strongly aided by hilarious moustaches. it influenced people I know into a syrup chugging contest that was a sight to behold, and is at worst still leaps and bounds ahead of Reno 911.

Posted by Pat on January 6th, 2008it would be a good idea to make a nother super troopers movie i have to say that the person who played mac in the movie was really funny and he was my favorate cop in the movie but i think that i would be rally cool if they made a nother super troopers movie and i bet a look of people would say so to
Anyone who didn’t think super troopers was funny has NO sense of humor at all.
