Here you go people, it’s just what you’ve been asking for… more Judd Apatow! There’s a new trailer online for one of the upcoming comedies he’s producing, and it looks quite promising. Superbad stars Michael Cera (Arrested Development) and Jonah Hill (Accepted) as two high school friends who are all but attached at the hip. Before going off to college, they have big plans to party and get laid, but their social insecurities seem to get in the way.

The movie co-stars (and was co-written by) Seth Rogen and is directed by another Apatow protege named Greg Mottola (The Daytrippers, Arrested Development, Undeclared). The trailer has the feel of Dazed & Confused, Detroit Rock City, Freaks & Geeks, and The 40 Year Old Virgin all rolled up into one, and I’m thinking it just might be a bit of a sleeper hit this summer. The only problem is it’s currently scheduled for release on August 17th, which would put it up against the Star Wars nerd comedy Fanboys.
