I’m writing an essay on head-on collisions and I wonder if you can help me: to your knowledge, in what movie was the first car chase “against traffic” done?

They missed one of the best by not including the one from William Friedkin’s “To Live and Die in L.A.” That one was visceral. If you haven’t seen it, make a point of it.

Does anyone know where I can rent or buy a DVD or Movie of a compilation of the best/top 10 Hollywood car chase scenes. We’re having a special movie night at our 3rd Annual Show N Shine Car Show on July 25th & 26th/08 and this type of movie with a collection of the best chase scenes would be far out – HELP

Try watching the Bullitt chase scene and then the French Connection chase scene right after. It’s like night and day. The French Connection puts it to shaaaame.
