Weekly Poll Results: Best Car Chase Movie
Last week’s poll covered a topic that many action movie fans have debated for years (in fact, there are even entire websites dedicated to the subject)… however, there are a few movies that seem to tower above the rest. We’re talking car chases, and according to Film Junk’s readers the Steve McQueen classic Bullitt came out on top with 18% of the votes. Not far behind was the two-way tie for second place, Ronin and The French Connection. I’m not a big car guy, but I’m sure there are a lot of other impressive chase scenes that we missed in this poll. What are your favourites? Next week’s poll: best sports comedies.
1. Bullitt — 18.4%
2. Ronin — 15.8%
2. The French Connection — 15.8%
4. The Blues Brothers — 12.3%
5. The Italian Job — 9.6%
5. The Fast and the Furious — 9.6%
7. Casino Royale — 6.1%
7. Batman Begins — 6.1%
9. The Road Warrior — 5.3%
10. Smokey and the Bandit — 0.9%

Is that the new or old version of Bad news Bears??
Posted by Croft on April 1st, 2007Well I was thinking the original when I made the poll. I guess you can interpret it as you see fit!
Posted by Sean on April 1st, 2007Try watching the Bullitt chase scene and then the French Connection chase scene right after. It’s like night and day. The French Connection puts it to shaaaame.
Posted by Zedd on April 2nd, 2007Does anyone know where I can rent or buy a DVD or Movie of a compilation of the best/top 10 Hollywood car chase scenes. We’re having a special movie night at our 3rd Annual Show N Shine Car Show on July 25th & 26th/08 and this type of movie with a collection of the best chase scenes would be far out – HELP
Looking forward to any quick feedback/help
Thanks,

They missed one of the best by not including the one from William Friedkin’s “To Live and Die in L.A.” That one was visceral. If you haven’t seen it, make a point of it.
