Although both The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy made some fairly decent coin at the box office, I still think that the series is generally underrated as far as action movies go. The first film proved that Matt Damon could hold his own as an action star, and also that Doug Liman (Swingers, Go) could move from indie comedy to big budget action without blinking an eye. Sure there’s the whole argument that the movie relied too much on shaky cam trickery, but I still say that Jason Bourne has given James Bond a run for his money in recent years and I for one am looking forward to the third installment in the series. Paul Greengrass (United 93) returns to direct once again, and it should be the perfect summer popcorn flick. The international trailer has popped up online over at Yahoo! UK, and although it’s mostly fast cuts and quick glimpses, the high energy level is there and it looks fantastic.
