The Real Stardust Trailer Now Online

Last week there was a rough cut of a trailer for the upcoming movie Stardust that leaked online, and while the reactions seemed mixed, a lot of people were also quick to point out that it was not an official trailer and should not be regarded as such. Now that the official trailer has arrived online, I can see why some people were so touchy about people jumping to conclusions. The new trailer has been cleaned up significantly, and the dazzling special effects, scenery and costumes make it clear that the movie will contain plenty of eye candy. They also removed the Pirates of the Caribbean music, although the fun atmosphere of that movie remains. There’s a promising cast here and a story that seems original enough to stand on its own (although it may be a little too unusual for mainstream success comparable to Pirates). I was definitely impressed, enough so that I would consider seeing Stardust when it hits theatres on August 10th. Unfortunately I have a feeling that this is one movie that is likely to get lost in the summer blockbuster shuffle. Check out the trailer over at Yahoo! now and see what you think.
