Claire Danes Gap Commercial Directed by Little Miss Sunshine Helmers
So I guess when you’re nominated for a handful of Academy Awards, not only does that make you a hot item in Hollywood, but it also makes you eligible to direct commercials for The Gap! To be fair, The Gap has had some pretty cool commercials in the past directed by big name filmmakers like Spike Jonze, so this is nothing new. Although the Jonathan Dayton/Valerie Faris piece isn’t quite as interesting as the Jonze one, it does feature Claire Danes and Patrick Wilson dancing in their underpants. Now do you see why they chose the Little Miss Sunshine directors for it?

Not for nothing Dayton/Faris aren’t directing commercials because they had some hollywood success – you’ll find their reel on the shelves of ad agency broadcast depts everywhere, for like, years.
