This is so out of hand. Variety also carried the story and they quoted someone as basically saying that all Iranians should take issue with the film. Yet, Azam Ali, a “World Music” superstar who lends her voice to the movie’s soundtrack made a point of posting a sort of disclaimer on her site regarding her participation in the film. I’m with you Sean, this is JUST a movie. People are reading way too much into it.

“300″ is the gayest thing I have ever seen. It’s just war porn, about how slaying barbarians is awesome, and it brings the Spartan military tough guy image to ridiculous homoerotic levels.

WE!!! ARE!!! YELLING!!! IN!! SLOW!! MOTION!!

So disturbing that that movie is a huge hit.

i disagree that this film has any agenda. Its simply a war story told from the Spartans point of view, and thus the Persians will be made to be bigger badder and more extravagant. it makes sense.

but in this case I cannot ENTIRELY blame the Iranians. why? Frank Miller’s big mouth. Anyone who goes out of their way to download his recent interview on NPR will hear him nearly break down crying about 9/11 and that Iraqis and Iranis are scum who deserve to be wiped off the face of the earth.

If the Iranians had kept their yaps shut, no one would have even made the connection between the two.

Most people in the Western world don’t know they’re Persians.
