Wild Hogs Director Becomes Hot Commodity, Plans Sequel

Didn’t I say there would be a Wild Hogs sequel? Well, okay, I guess it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to put two and two together there… when a dumb comedy unexpectedly makes $38 million on its opening weekend, the unlikeliest of people suddenly become hot commodities in Hollywood. Wild Hogs director Walt Becker (Van Wilder) is now shopping around a bunch of new ideas, and is also considering doing Wild Hogs 2. I’m sure it will happen.

As far as the other projects he has on the go, one of them is another buddy comedy starring John Travolta called Old Dogs. Wild Hogs, Old Dogs… what’s next? Bold Blogs? Becker also just sold a movie called Runt to Dimension Films, that is described as (get this) “a high-concept comedy about twin brothers who are complete opposites”. Haven’t we seen that somewhere before? Says Becker: “I see things (in my head) in trailers and could see this one in my mind.” Well, I suppose it’s true that as long as you can put together a good 30 second trailer, you can make a living in the movie biz! Back to Wild Hogs… I still haven’t seen the movie, but that won’t stop me from making fun of it. What’s wrong with people? $38 million???
