For Star Trek XI, if Abrams hired William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy to mud wrestle, I'd still pay money to see it.

For me, bad Star Trek is still better than no Star Trek. But I wish they would hire a science fiction writer to add some imagination back into the franchise.

man, i dont know if thats a good argument. he isnt really directly involved in the production of this shows. and if you mean "lost" i simply disagree. i dont know why people are so impatient. i treat Lost like "the Wire" - as a novel type show. in this case, one that is just over halfway done. i dont know why people are so anxious for answers that would essentially end the show. if it ends like shit then it ends like shit, but for now its still among one of the best hours of tv, its clever, has intelligent cross references and philosophical/religious themes, great acting, and from time to time like the Desmond episode from a couple weeks back is still as fresh as it initially was.

Abrams TV shows start off strong but go down hill way fast. Maybe movies would be more his thing.

I'm a bit skeptical of Abrams being the right guy for this franchise. It would be great if he could revitalize it but I'm not completely sold on the story line which is kicking around. That said, until we know a bit more, I reserve judgment.

BTW, that's a great picture of Abrams. He looks like such a dweeb.
