After having released two teasers that showed little in the way of actual footage, the first full-fledged trailer has finally appeared online for The Simpsons Movie. This one features another clever little intro, followed by plenty of clips that give us an idea of what to expect from the flick. As you would expect, the gang’s all there, and it definitely looks like a cut above the TV series in terms of animation quality, however I can’t say I found any of the jokes all that funny. And if the trailer alone can’t make you laugh, then that probably isn’t a good sign! I suppose it wasn’t for lack of trying, but as far as I could tell, most of the gags were based around things we’ve seen on the show many many times before (and if you ask me, The Simpsons were played out a long time ago). I was really hoping they’d kick it up a notch for the feature film, but maybe there’s still hope for it yet. Either way, a dull trailer certainly won’t stop this movie from being one of the biggest money makers of the year.
