Teaser Trailer for Underdog Hits the Web

The first teaser trailer for Disney’s live action Underdog movie has debuted online, and it’s another one of those red herring teasers that gets you thinking that it’s a trailer for Superman, only to reveal a flying dog instead! Classic! This movie will star a real-life dog that moves and talks (as voiced by Jason Lee) with the help of computer animation. It looks rather gimmicky and silly but I do think it’s a better choice than making the entire character CG. Either way I have to admit, it’s pretty darn cute. And you gotta love that tag line… “One Nation, Under Dog”. I wouldn’t be surprised if this movie is very successful, as it should make for a unique light-hearted take on the superhero genre. You can check out the first teaser over at Disney’s Movie homepage now (linked below). Is this something you’re interested in?

  1. Surprisingly, the trailer isn’t as bad as I had expected. I liked the whole Superman thing. Still not all that interested but definately looks better than I expected. But the talking dog? No.

While over there I took a second look at the “Bridge to Terabithia” trailer and I must say that the more I watch it the more interested I am in it. Looks like (and sounds like) they’ve taken the story and simply expanded the bits in the book that were fairly non-descript. Could be a good one.

  2. I liked this preview. I may even see this movie. I loved the Underdog cartoon when I was a kid.

Where’s the Hong Kong Phooey or Yukmouth films? They could have all of the cartoon dogs.

  3. By the way….this movie is going to make a ton of money. The merchandise alone will be insane. Little kids are gonna lose their minds.
