Sacha Baron Cohen Signs Deal for Borat 2
Despite the insistence of many that a sequel would be impossible after the success of the first film, it appears that Sacha Baron Cohen has indeed signed on to do a Borat 2. Contrary to earlier rumours, it will not be a movie based one of his other characters, but rather another Borat Sagdiyev adventure. Fox News Corp head honcho Rupert Murdoch recently confirmed that a deal had been signed for the sequel, although he didn’t reveal much else at the time. Murdoch has, however, seen the movie three times and apparently loves it. “We laughed like hell. We went out to dinner and laughed all over again.” Is it just me or do Rupert Murdoch and Sacha Baron Cohen not seem like the likeliest of business partners?

But is a Borat 2 really capable of the same success? I’m sure they’ll find SOMEONE who’s never heard of Borat but the audience is fully aware of the shtick now. I just don’t see this sequel being anywhere as successful as the first one.
