Monday Morning Box Office Report: Feb. 5, 2007
Well it was just one of those weeks at theatres, because if you take a spin over to Rotten Tomatoes you’ll notice that the top 3 grossing movies of the weekend are currently sitting at 16%, 7% and 3% respectively. In fact, nothing in the top 5 even broke the 50% mark. I’m not surprised that Because I Said So did well because it was created specifically to capture a certain audience, but wow, The Messengers, $14.5 million? Really? Apparently people still aren’t sick of seeing the same horror movie over and over again.
1. The Messengers — $14.5M
2. Because I Said So — $13M
3. Epic Movie — $8.22M
4. Night at the Museum — $6.75M
5. Smokin’ Aces — $6.32M
6. Stomp the Yard — $4.2M
7. Dreamgirls — $4.05M
8. Pan’s Labyrinth — $3.6M
9. The Pursuit of Happyness — $3.1M
10. The Queen — $2.71M
