Trailer for Danny Boyle’s Sunshine Online Now
A couple days ago I posted some of the non-blockbuster films that I’m looking forward to this year, and among them was Danny Boyle’s Sunshine. I get the feeling there aren’t a ton of people out there who are excited about this movie at the moment, and to be fair, we haven’t really seen enough from it to get a sense of what it will be like. So far it seems to bear some resemblance to Solaris or (dare I say it) Event Horizon, in that it’s a science-fiction movie that takes place on a ship in space but possibly with some sort of horror element as well. All I know is that it’s another Danny Boyle/Alex Garland movie with some pretty cool-looking imagery… and that’s good enough for me.
Well now here’s the first trailer for the movie, and once again there’s still not much revealed about the plot or the tone of the movie. But it does look interesting, and clearly there’s enough action to put aside fears of a Solaris rip-off. The movie stars Cillian Murphy, Michelle Yeoh, Rose Byrne, and Chris Evans (yep, Johnny Storm). I can’t wait to read all the Fantastic Four jokes people come up with when they see Evans and a flaming sun. Anyway, check out the trailer below and see what you think. Is it Horror? Sci-fi? Action? All of the above?

i like Danny Boyle a lot, but this trailers not so hot (OMIGOD ITS A PUN I BET IT WILL BE THE ONLY TIME YOU SEE THAT ONE)
i especially hated the requiem for a dream/two towers theme in there.
Posted by Goon on January 17th, 2007Agreed, I was trying to remember where that music was from. It didn’t quite fit.
Posted by Sean on January 17th, 2007It’s not really fair calling it the two towers theme though… That might be the more popular and recognizable movie, but there’s no need to act like because they stole the music it’s all of a sudden a two towers theme.
I don’t mean to jump down your throat (honestly), but we have to give credit where its due. Otherwise, what have we become.
Posted by Henrik on January 17th, 2007Errr… And you did give credit where its due. It’s just the other mention that bothers me a little bit. And whenever something annoys me just a little bit, I have to post about it on message boards and/or comments sections.
Posted by Henrik on January 17th, 2007i did give credit. also the LOTR version was a redone version i think.
Posted by Goon on January 17th, 2007Yeah I think you are right about that. Re-orchestrated at least.
Posted by Henrik on January 18th, 2007You’re right. The original music comes from Requiem for a dream as said by Goon.
