I have my doubts about this new comedy that Lionsgate is developing called The Bass Master… but I know at least one guy who will pay to see it! The movie is, as you can probably guess, based in the world of competitive bass fishing. We previously reported last year on a biopic that is in the works about well-known bass fishing champ Mike Iaconelli. Perhaps bass fishing is the new NASCAR? As Josh over at Cinema Blend points out, it seems to be a part of this whole redneck culture gimmick, as we saw last year in the box office smash Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. I do believe that bass fishing culture is silly enough to capitalize on in some way, the only problem is, I doubt they will have Will Ferrell to fall back on for this one. The script is being written by Tab Murphy (The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Gorillas in the Mist) and Devin Maurer.
