Optimus Speaks in Transformers Trailer on Website

As if releasing the new movie trailer wasn’t enough, Michael Bay and Co. have just given Transformers fans a little something extra to wet themselves over. It seems that if you watch the trailer on the official website (not on Yahoo!), you will be rewarded with a surprise sound bite of Peter Cullen voicing Optimus Prime over top of the movie’s title. The line is the one that was chosen in their “Make Optimus Speak” fan contest: “Freedom is the right of all sentient beings”. Truer words have never been spoken, even if he did pronounce the word “sentient” a little strangely. (To be fair, the Transformers are from another planet.) I gotta say, I’m glad they left that voice over out of the real trailer because it sounds cheesy as hell. As of right now, Cullen’s voice is the only connection to the original cartoon, so it seems a bit out of place. Thanks to Henrik for the heads up.

  10. If nothing else an interesting exercise on how you two interpret the same piece of news.

It’s like that old theory that if two different directors were to use the same script you’d get two completely different movies.
