I think Babel was the best movie I saw this year, better than United 93. I thought all the scenes on the plane were incredibly well done, but all the stuff on the ground, I didn’t find as exciting. Where the scenes on the plane actually engaged me emotionally – and I’m a pretty big fan of these people. To me they are real heroes, american or otherwise!, – the stuff on the ground was a little boring I thought. I am not saying that they should have left it out though, if I had made the movie I wouldn’t have changed a thing. Just for me personally, it didn’t resonate.

I like you, but if you’re joking about this, I’m guessing you didn’t see Road to Perdition.

Road to Perdition was overlooked at the oscars, and is still underappreciated. Tom Hanks should have won an oscar for it. It’s – by far – his best performance.
