Teaser Trailer for Shrek The Third

I never did see Shrek 2, so I suppose it stands to reason that I probably won’t be paying money to see Shrek The Third in theatres either. However, I will say this: I just watched the first trailer for Shrek The Third and I actually thought it was decent. I don’t know if it’s just for the trailer, but Dreamworks finally seems to be toning down all the lame pop culture jokes. Maybe they’re sick of constantly being told they’re not as good as Pixar? Either way, I’m assuming that if you liked the first two Shrek flicks, there’s no way this won’t make you smile. All the usual suspects return, plus a few new faces/voices including John Krasinski as Sir Lancelot, Ian McShane as Captain Hook and Justin Timberlake as King Arthur (well, “Prince Artie” I should say). Check out the trailer premiere over at AOL Moviefone now.

  1. i have weird feelings about Shrek. I saw both of them in the theater, but I dont sing its praises. i can enjoy them on some level - they are movies that are okay to watch once but i dont care if i ever see them again, in fact i forget its even a franchise until they start over-merchandising the next one (which to me was a big reason i got annoyed with it)

so the same thing will probably happen here. i’ll see it in theaters, laugh a couple times maybe, wince at the predictably awful soundtrack, and that’s that.

  2. um, i just now watched the trailer though. not a good trailer.

  3. Shrek is the Jay Leno of cg movies.

  4. I’m with Goon. I don’t see the mass appeal. They’re fun but not something I’m going to run out to see. I doubt I’ll even get out to see this one in theatres.
