When most people think of Guy Pearce they think of Memento, a movie that probably should have made him a huge star but never really did. Why? Well, I think it’s because he didn’t let it. Aside from his follow-up roles in The Time Machine and The Count of Monte Cristo, Pearce has stuck pretty much exclusively to critically-acclaimed indie flicks — things like The Proposition, for example.

His next film is an independent production called First Snow, a thriller about a salesman whose life spins out of control after a fortune teller informs him that he is going to die. Sound cheesy? Maybe a little bit, but the trailer for this movie makes it look pretty interesting if you ask me. First-time director Mark Fergus also wrote the screenplay for Children of Men and Jon Favreau’s upcoming Iron Man movie, which makes me think he could be someone to watch. First Snow co-stars Piper Perabo, J.K. Simmons and William Fichtner, and hits select theatres on March 23, 2007. Check out the trailer via the link below.
