Christian Slater Up For Alone In The Dark 2?
Allow me to pose a question: what was the last good movie that Christian Slater starred in? Pump Up The Volume? Star Trek VI? True Romance? Although he has continued to work in recent years, he certainly hasn’t been getting the same juicy roles he once had back in the early 90’s. I remember thinking at one point that Christian Slater’s career was starting to revive itself again, but for whatever reason that comeback still hasn’t quite panned out for him. Certainly Hollow Man II is proof of that. Now word on the street is that Slater is in talks to star in a sequel to Uwe Boll’s god-awful video game adaptation Alone In The Dark (one of the few movies to earn itself a lowly 1% rating on Rotten Tomatoes).
This time around Boll isn’t actually directing, he’s only producing. I’m not sure if that’s a good sign or a bad one, but I suppose it can’t get much worse. Two of the first film’s writers Michael Roesch and Peter Scheere will be penning and directing the sequel (which I can only assume will be direct to video). Oh how the mighty have fallen. I actually like Christian Slater and would like to see the guy back in the mix in Hollywood, but it’s going to be hard to climb out of this hole. Seriously though, Tarantino needs to Travolta this guy.

I like the fact that you use “Travolta” as a verb. Very nice.
