As we mentioned on last week’s podcast, our friends over at The Movie Blog have invited us to take part in a special event they’re planning for the new year called Films 4 Food Fest. This is a charity event with the noble intentions of using movie fanboy power to help raise money for a local food bank. Here are some of the key events:

- Screenings of Clerks 2 and Shaun of the Dead
- Screening of 3rd “mystery movie”
- Live recording of The Movie Blog’s audio edition podcast
- Stand-up performances by Canadian comedians Doug Nagy and Jesse Bonner
- 10 minute preview of John Campea’s documentary Prince of Peace – God of War
- 1 hour Q&A/interactive panel discussion
- VIP After Party!

Films 4 Food Fest will take place on Sat. January 20th, 2007 @ FRWY Coffee House (333 King Street E) in Hamilton, Ontario. If you’re interested in attending, be sure to reserve a spot as the venue can only hold a max of 120 people. If you live outside the southern Ontario area, you’re encouraged to donate money online via Paypal or other methods. Their goal is to raise $5000 so let’s make it happen!
