But I thought there were space aliens in the original comic book series too?

I guess after the first trailer I just accepted that this is going to be a kid-friendly flick (as it should be). I think it will be fun, as long as they can make it look "cinematic" enough to be worth seeing in the theatre. And I thought this trailer showed that.

The teaser looked incredible, but this trailer just killed my drive to see the movie by about 80%. The whole space alien threat is too wacky and zany and cartoon for me to put up with.

Probably goes without saying but I think it looks great. I agree that the newer show on TV looked good as well, but it's TV. It probably wouldn't work on the big screen. And I don't think you would ever get to make a 2D-turtles movie at this point... It would probably have to be 3D.

Like I said before, I think the direction this is going in looks amazing. The archetypes seem to be preserved (Leonardo leads, Donatello does machining) and at the same time this is Ninja turtles and not Hero turtles, and I'm hoping for some wicked ninja action. Possibly training sequences, combo moves, the whole deal. It would be amazing. And the 3D helps when you have to have characters touching and interacting in action sequences. It frees the camera and you are able to create more elaborate 'moves' so to speak.

So yeah, I think it looks great. I can't fucking wait to see this on a big screen.

CG vs. Traditional Animation? I think this film would be a whole lot better if they did it in traditional animation (the new show (on tv) looks pretty good); the characters look awkward in CG.....

I liked the teaser a lot more than I like this trailer. It's hard to say but I think it's the voice talent doesn't do it for me. I'm still interested in seeing it because it was a show that I loved growing up but...what happened to "Cowabunga" (sp?)??

Oh my fucking god.

That was the best trailer I have seen in a long time. I think the direction this is going is probably the best possible. I definitely don't have a problem with Michelangelo being a goofball... If I saw this movie and Michelangelo all of a sudden was a serious guy I would have major issues adjusting. He is one of the original goofballs to me. "Dude she looks like your mom"? Awesome.

I really liked the voice-acting. Innocent and clean and it sounds like real people, not stylized in any way like the Pixar movies. Most importantly it sounds all-american and I think that was important with this movie. Maybe it's more of a personal thing but this cartoon was one of the major learning tools for me when I was a young child, and among other shows like it, it taught me english. And they still sound the same. Huge deal for me.

The action looks amazing. Shredder looked badass... I was pretty blown away by this trailer. I can't wait for this movie.

looking at it again, its not the visuals/action, it really is some of the dialogue (ie "i've got a bad feeling") and especially the trailer type "between two worlds" shit...

cant say i'm thrilled with this weird alien direction rather than the traditional shredder route but we'll see.

i dont know. i dont care if the movie is 'dark' or light fun, but the first trailer gave the impression it would be more dark (except for that last joke) so i wasnt prepared for all the groaners, gags and style of voice acting. definitely caught off guard.

maybe if i wait a bit i'd like it next time, but "well this just looks like a CGI version of the new tv show" was my trailer impression.
