Some of the jokes seem pretty typical. I'm sure this movie could have been about anything and fanboys would have praised it just because of who made it. Still I really liked Shaun of the Dead, and I think one of the reasons is not so much because it was funny but because it also worked as a horror movie too. In the same way, I think Hot Fuzz will also do a good job of actually being what it's poking fun at, which is a buddy cop action movie. On some level, I can’t really disagree with you. I think if this trailer was exactly the same but with American actors, it wouldnt get the same attention. I think this is a case of "british accent makes this a smart comedy". I have to disagree.
