Trailer for Epic Movie (From 2 of the 6 Writers of Scary Movie)
First came Scary Movie. Then came Not Another Teen Movie. Then came Date Movie. Now comes the latest in the hilarious and groundbreaking “Movie” series… Epic Movie! You know, the thing I love about these flicks is how they try to come up with a general theme for the whole thing, and then they don’t even stick to it. In Epic Movie, not only do they spoof epic fantasy films like The Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Caribbean, and The Chronicles of Narnia, but hey, we can’t think of enough jokes for those so let’s throw in a little Superman Returns, Borat and Snakes on a Plane for good measure! (Isn’t parodying Snakes On A Plane kind of like doing a spoof of Spaceballs?)
Regardless, I have to admit… the trailer for Epic Movie looks so god awful and stupid it might actually be funny (then again, I said that about Scary Movie 4 and I still didn’t end up seeing it). The casting of Crispin Glover as Willy Wonka seems particularly inspired. Written and directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer (2 of the 6 writers of Scary Movie!) , Epic Movie hits theatres on January 27th. Are you serious? You honestly believe that there is any chance this will be worth watching? Oh my god… Not only did it look unfunny, but embarrasingly unfunny.
I’m not against stupid comedy – I kinda like Jar Jar Binks – but this was embarrasing.

Posted by Goon on November 27th, 2006The entire movie was HORRIBLE. I think the ONLY thing that made this bearable was the cute redhead that played “Lucy”. This is a movie that I’d have to sit down with anybody and point out all the stuff that really irked me. Yes, there was a lot.
