Monday Morning Box Office Report: Nov. 27, 2006

You know it doesn’t bode well for this week’s crop of movies when #1 and 2 at the box office are the exact same films that were tops last weekend as well. But I guess in a way its nice to see some movies with legs, since that doesn’t happen often enough nowadays; Happy Feet, Casino Royale and Borat are continuing to bring in audiences and are each now hovering on or near the $100 million mark. Deja Vu and Deck The Halls were the strongest of the new titles this week, leaving others to flounder such as Darren Aronofsky’s The Fountain and Tenacious D: In The Pick of Destiny. The D are easily the biggest disappointment of the weekend… they didn’t even crack the top 10, despite playing in a few hundred more theatres than both Bobby and The Fountain. Jack Black-lash indeed.

1. Happy Feet — $37.9M
2. Casino Royale — $31M
3. Deja Vu — $20.8M
4. Deck the Halls — $12M
5. Borat — $10.4M
6. The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause — $10M
7. Stranger Than Fiction — $6M
8. Flushed Away — $5.84M
9. Bobby — $4.91M
10. The Fountain — $3.73M
