New Spider-Man 3 Trailer Hits The Web
iFilm has the newest trailer for Spider-Man 3 up in HD right now for your viewing pleasure… so go check it out! All signs point towards this being the best Spider-Man flick yet. The new trailer gives us our first look at Sandman and the special effects for his powers… I was pretty impressed, although I’m still not sure if I’ll be able to take Thomas Haden Church seriously. We also get a glimpse of Harry Osborn as The Green Goblin, and more clips of the symbiote suit. What did you think of the trailer? Spider-Man 3 hits theatres on May 4, 2007.

It looks absolutely amazing. I’m speechless.
Posted by Henrik on November 10th, 2006LOVED the trailer - the marketing for this film just keeps getting better and better and the Sandman looks pretty amazing.
I’m only worried that we’ve already seen too much! I may have to go into “blackout” mode from now until May. Or I may have to move into a small hut with no electricity.
Posted by Burbanked on November 10th, 2006WOW! i do have to say that each film in the series just gets better and this looks like it will be the best of the bunch. cant wait to see it for sure!
Posted by Chopper on November 10th, 2006The only concern I have has to do with the fact that I hold Spiderm-Man 2 so highly. It is one of the most rewatchable films (outside of Home Alone of course) and although i’m not expecting this to top it, I hope it at least isn’t a step backwards.
Posted by Jay C. on November 10th, 2006there are a few things i’m wary about. in the world that the new Spiderman films made, the more weird supervillains that come along the more strange and unlikely it seems, as compared to XMen where its already established there are millions of them. I can get over this of course but it all depends on how they are explained. even though we all know how ridiculosu spiderman actually is, the villains have been more restrained. a villain with a metal suit and bombs that happens to be insane and a guy with metal strapped to his back with intelligence is different from a guy that can turn to sand, and an alien symbiote who takes over you.
but my only valid concern with the trailer itself is the ‘this is your uncles real killer’ thing - i didnt like when they fumbled around with it in the first couple batman movies, and i dont like it now. it just strikes me as a lazy excuse for a villain.
Posted by Goon on November 10th, 2006I must say I agree with Goon. I’m extremely unhappy with the cop-out to make Sandman emotionally connected with Peter Parker. He should be able to just fight a bad guy because he robs banks and destroys buildings…
I don’t think the villains are outrageous though. I think this movie will be extraordinary… This is just nitpicking… I didn’t like the cheap-looking effects of the symbiot either. Like the way it lunges or jumps forward…it should just slide like the blob.

cut from trailer - Eddie Brock becomes Venom. it was cut becuase it like many scenes in the trailer is not finished and Venom looked too skinny. (this is a gif)

the image i posted was from this ComicCon pre-vis trailer.
Posted by Goon on November 13th, 2006i disagree with goon’s comment about the badguys in spiderman 3, if this was a new franchise then yes they would be ridiculous, but this is stan lee we’re talking about, stuff doesn’t “just happen” this is following marvel’s story, yes sandman was around, maybe not as major a player as this trailer made out at that stage but he was there, and yes venom was an alien symbiote who took spiderman’s body and used his powers, all in all this movie looks a success so far and i can’t wait till may 4th, this make spiderman 1 look positivly childlike.
