First 6 Minutes of Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny Online
When it comes to marketing, I think the Tenacious D movie may be second only to Borat in terms of exposure right now. I feel like I’ve seen the trailer for Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny about 500 times now, and I can’t help but wonder if that’s a bad thing. Still, I am cautiously optimistic about the film, as Jack Black’s heavy metal schtick never seems to get old for me. But I know there’s a “Jack Black-lash” looming, and people I’ve talked to seem divided on this movie.
The first 6 minutes of the movie are now viewable over on YouTube, and against my better judgment I decided to check it out. The film opens with a rock opera-type intro explaining the backstory for Jack Black and how he arrived in Hollywood. There’s even an appearance from Ronnie James Dio… not too shabby. If you don’t mind spoiling a bit of the movie for yourself, then go ahead and click below. What are your thoughts on this movie, and what are your thoughts on releasing 6 minute clips from a movie online before it is released? The D hits theatres on November 22nd.

i really like Jack Black in crazy roles, but i have to say that when i saw the trailer for this flick, i did not find one thing funny about it. i find the whole premise boring and dumb.
