Saw III had a big opening this weekend, taking in over $34 million worth of masochistic horror fans and cementing the release of Saw IV for Halloween 2007. The Departed is still hanging strong at #2, which is nice to see considering it’s one of the best movies of the year. The Prestige and Flags of our Fathers stuck around at #3 and 4 respectively. The other major release last weekend, Catch A Fire, was all the way down at #12 this weekend, taking in just $2 million despite opening on over 1,300 screens. Ouch.
