Toshiba Offers 3 Free HD-DVDs With Purchase of Player

Looks like Toshiba isn’t ready to sit back and let video game consoles steal the entire HD-DVD player market. In response to Microsoft and Sony’s upcoming free bundled HD-DVD offers, they’ve come up with a hot new deal of their own that they’re hoping will entice consumers to invest in one of their HD-DVD systems instead. Starting on November 1st, and running until February 28th, 2007, the new promotion will offer not 1 but 3 free HD-DVD titles to anyone who purchases a Toshiba player. Here’s the catch: you have a list of only 15 movies to choose from, and must select one title from each of the studios (Universal, Warner Bros and Paramount).

The choices are as follows: Apollo 13, The Chronicles of Riddick, The Rundown, Seabiscuit, U-571 (Universal), Blazing Saddles, Casablanca, Constantine, The Dukes of Hazzard, The Perfect Storm (Warner), Four Brothers, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow, U2: Rattle and Hum, We Were Soldiers (Paramount).

Personally the only movie out of these I’d consider adding to my collection is Apollo 13, but I suppose this could be a sweet deal for some people.
