We all know and love German filmmaker Uwe Boll for his terrible video game movies, not to mention his uncanny ability to beat up film critics in a boxing ring. But I think the thing I love most about this guy is the fact that he is completely and utterly insane. His next movie, Postal, is yet another video game adaptation, this time based on a series of games that are as violent, juvenile and intellectually retarded as Boll himself. We’re talking about a shooter where your objective is to kill everything in sight for no reason whatsoever… and then piss on their corpses. Sounds like this should be Boll’s ultimate masterpiece, right?

Well apparently he thinks so too. In fact, he recently issued a press release explaining the deep socio-political commentary contained within the game, and why he felt it was his responsibility to adapt it for the big screen. And I quote:

“The world is in need of a film that is tougher in it’s humorous mockery of the globe than ‘SOUTH PARK’. The audience is ready to approach this type of satire with live actors rather than cartoons. ‘POSTAL’ will not accept any form of censorship.”

Boll then gets philosophical:

“Our present political situation is intolerable. We have deranged religious fanatics on one hand and lobbyists from the oil & weapon industries on the other hand. Both sides are actively working at destroying the planet. This world is slowly dying due to global warming & pollution caused by man’s corporate greed and stupidity. If intelligent people do not stop this madness, then our grandchildren will not experience life.”

Wow, such amazing insight. It’s now clear to me that all of the world’s problems can be solved through potty humour. Seriously, you gotta read the whole thing… I would have thought it was a joke, except for the fact that I can actually see Dr. Boll believing this crap. This guy really is becoming the modern day Ed Wood (okay, that’s probably an insult to Ed Wood).
