Trailer for Mr. Woodcock Starring Billy Bob Thornton

Although I didn’t see School for Scoundrels this weekend, I’m assuming this trailer played with it because it looks like the exact same movie all over again! Okay, maybe I’m exagerrating slightly, but it’s definitely a similar role for Billy Bob Thornton, who seems to be getting stuck with all these bad ass trash-talking roles, whether it be a coach, a teacher or Santa Claus. I, for one, don’t have a problem with it because let’s face it — the guy’s pretty damn hilarious. Mr. Woodcock stars Thornton as a strict gym teacher who terrorizes his students; years later one of his students (played by Seann William Scott) writes a self-help book based on his traumatic experiences. Then he comes home from a book tour only to find out that his mother is dating Mr. Woodcock! Sounds like a classic set-up in the vein of Meet The Parents and Wedding Crashers. There’s no question that the title of the movie was specifically chosen to make 18 to 24 year old males snicker… thankfully it looks like the title won’t be the sole joke in the film. Check out the trailer now via the link below… hey, it made me laugh! Mr. Woodcock hits theatres on January 19th.

  1. The title isn’t funny. It’s weird because if Will Ferrell’s nemesis in a movie was named Woodcock I might find it funny, but like this it feels lame.

If this movie was called Mr. Mantooth I might have thought it was lame as well.

  2. i like billy bob, i think that he is really funny in these type of roles. i just hope that he does something different and fresh.
