Death of a President Clip Now Available at YouTube
The magical Richard Brunton over at Filmstalker has just posted about a trailer for the award winning TIFF buzz film ‘Death of a President’. For those of you who don’t know, the film is a mockumentary which explores the idea of President Bush being assissinated in the very near future. It’s a timely and extremely contraversial commentary on the current social and political state of America. Well thanks to Youtube, we’re finally getting a look at this thing. Filmstalker reports it as a trailer, but I think this is actually just an edited series of clips from the film. If it is in fact a trailer, i’d have to say it’s not a very good one. We get a look at the pandemonium surrounding the assassintation, and some footage of an anti-Bush political rally. It looks as though the filmmakers have mixed documentary footage with staged events with some success, although it still wasn’t one hundred percent convincing for me. You can check out the clip here, and then come back and let us know what you thought. Could this be the beginning of a trend of mockumentaries dealing with history changing ‘what if’ scenarios? If so, i’ll be waiting for the ‘what if Superman landed in Moscow?’ film.

Thanks for the link back and the “magical” comment! Yeah I thought it was a trailer at the time, now with all the more official trailers out I’m not so sure.
Did you get to see the film? What did you think?
