Timecop Sequel In The Works?

If you had to guess what Jean-Claude Van Damme’s highest grossing movie of all time is, what would your guess be? (Here’s a hint, it’s not Breakin’.) Give up? Timecop. I don’t know why this surprises me, but it does. The only thing I remember about Timecop is that scene where he’s in the kitchen and he does the splits on the counter. I didn’t even know there was a direct to video sequel, or a Sci-Fi Channel TV series. Anyway, Mike Richardson at Dark Horse Comics recently revealed that Universal is considering another Timecop movie, possibly based on the Timecop comic book. I like cop movies and I like time travel, so I’m not gonna complain just yet… but what are the odds this will be worth anyone’s time or money? It sounds like Van Damme won’t be involved, so I suppose that’s a start. But seriously, if you’re going to revive an action movie franchise, I think there’s a few better ones to choose from out there.

  1. Come on, man! You don’t think Van Damme is awesome? Your latest top 5 got me thinking, and the only movie I could come up with in the category was Streetfighter, but the more I thought about it, the more I was convinced that if I saw that movie today, I would still enjoy it just as much. I still enjoy the 2 Mortal Kombat movies.

Van Damme kicks ass. Did you see him die in that Michael Bay show Las Vegas?

  2. I also agree that there are some new faces out there to fit this bill but I’d LOVE to see Van Damme make an appearance. That would rule.

  3. i think that the best Van Damme flick is still Bloodsport or even Kickboxer. i think that they should get a movie going with Van Damme and maybe put Segal or Norris in it to, to get their careers all back on track. it should be one big ass kicking movie if they did that. but as for Timecop, it was an alright movie, i dont know why they are bothering trying to get that franchise going.
