George Clooney For President?
I’m not too sure how it all got started, but the whispers about George Clooney stepping into politics have been slowly building over the past few months into a deafening roar. A growing number of people have been spotted around Hollywood wearing t-shirts that say “Clooney 2008″, and it seems that Clooney is being questioned about it at every turn. He still maintains that it’s not happening of course. “Believe me, you don’t want me in politics,” he told reporters. “[Arnold] was playing Mr. Freeze, and I was Batman. He’s gone on to be governor, and I still think I’m Batman.” Classic Clooney sarcasm… you gotta love it. But could something that started as a joke, actually turn out to become a reality? Maybe it’s not as ridiculous as it sounds. We all know that Clooney has turned his attention to more political films as of late, and has also used his celebrity status to raise awareness and speak out on political issues. Either way, he’s going to have some stiff competition if he runs for president, in the form of Christopher Walken!

I’m not sure which I think is funnier: Clooney as president or Walken…
Posted by Marina on September 26th, 2006It does run in the family…sort of. I voted for his Dad’s unsuccessful run for the U.S. Congress in 2004 in Kentucky’s sixth district. Even back then there were rumors of George moving back to Augusta and running against Republican Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell this year. It obviously didn’t happen.
