Monday Morning Box Office Report: Sept. 18, 2006
Another rather weak showing at the box office this weekend, with a second football flick bringing home the bacon. People love their football. Gridiron Gang starring The Rock… err… I mean, Dwayne Johnson took in $15 million, while De Palma’s The Black Dahlia was the second highest grossing film with only $10.4 mil. Surprisingly, Zach Braff’s romantic comedy The Last Kiss barely left a mark with only $4.7 million to show, and somehow The Covenant managed to hang on in the top 5 this weekend despite terrible reviews with about an equal take. Go figure.
1. Gridiron Gang — $15M
2. The Black Dahlia — $10.4M
3. Everyone’s Hero — $6.15M
4. The Last Kiss — $4.7M
5. The Covenant — $4.7M
6. Invincible — $3.9M
7. The Illusionist — $3.75M
8. Little Miss Sunshine — $3.35M
9. Hollywoodland — $2.74M
10. Crank — $2.7M

went to see Black Dahlia, horribly slow and boring. Hartnett shouldnt be doing dramatic roles. the only good thing about this was the preview for The Departed from Scorcese.
Posted by Chopper on September 18th, 2006Two bad weeks at the box offic now. Gridiron Gang and The Black Dahlia did pretty well but everything else did really poorly. Glad to see Little Miss Sunshine still in the top 10 though. Finally went to see it and loved every minute of it.
