Edward Furlong To Become A Jedi?
So like, whatever happened to Edward Furlong? Throughout the 90’s he was seen as a bona fide teen heartthrob, and he starred in some pretty killer movies too. From Terminator 2, to John Waters’ Pecker, to Detroit Rock City, he seemed like he was maintaining a decent career. But over the last few years we haven’t heard much from him. The last thing I heard about him starring in was the direct to video The Crow: Wicked Prayer… although I haven’t seen it, I can’t imagine it being a good sign of things to come.
However, this week an interesting report has surfaced, which seems to indicate that Furlong might be changing gears and heading to the small screen soon. It won’t be as part of The Sarah Connor Chronicles as you might expect, but rather the upcoming Star Wars TV series. TV Guide writer Michael Ausiello recently asked Furlong what he was working on next, and his reply was “Some CSI, and then maybe the Star Wars TV series, man.” So it looks like we may have our first real Star Wars casting rumour! Edward Furlong is also currently starring in an indie flick that just hit select theatres this weekend called Jimmy & Judy. It sounds a little like Natural Born Killers but with teenagers. You can watch a trailer over at the movie’s official website now.

Star Wars t.v. series? Noooooooooooooooooooooo!
Posted by Baychuk on September 17th, 2006who forgot to mention that he was in American History X which was a crazy flick.
Posted by Chopper on September 18th, 2006this star wars tv show will bomb, dont waste our time.
Maybe it won’t bomb, but I can envision an approach akin to Xena: Princess Warrior and it may be taken less seriously.
But for me its more I don’t want too much revealed about it. I’d rather keep the mysteries from the six movies there. I would prefer to see the final 3 films made, but I doubt Lucas is into it.
Posted by Baychuk on September 18th, 2006I seriously doubt a Star Wars TV series will bomb. Think about it, all those people that Lucas employs currently have nothing to do. I have confidence that this will be a high budget, high quality series, and with the Star Wars name on it, it will be hyped beyond belief.
As for revealing more beyond the 6 movies, there are already endless novels out there that add to the continuity of the Star Wars universe. They are considered “official” in terms of the timeline as far as I know.
Posted by Sean on September 18th, 2006I’m still not convinced that the series won’t bomb. I have little faith in the network. Honestly, if it was SciFi channel, I’d feel a bit less skeptical about it.
Posted by themarina on September 18th, 2006If it’s well-produced I will watch. At least it’s live action. The Clone Wars cartoon show grossed me out. Watching lightsabers bend? Lame.

Posted by rawr on May 12th, 2007There’s supposed to be a film in production I believe Edward Furlong should look into. It’s a biopic of late Nirvana Frontman Kurt Cobain. Here’s the message I’ve been leaving on message boards…
Posted by DavidBlack on October 8th, 2007“First of all, this should be an art film, and not some ~”Squeeze every dollar from the dead guy we can”~ movie. Someone like Oliver Stone would be the perfect Director for a project like this. This film could be like “The Doors†meets “Sid & Nancy.” But odds are it won’t be. I’d go and see the movie anyways just to see how much stuff they lie about. This film definately needs to focus more away from Kurt & Courtney and more on Kurt. But with Courtney Love at the helm Kurt will probably be made out to be a piece of sh*t, and Courtney portrayed as an angel. But here’s who I think should play the parts…
1. Kurt Cobain– `Edward Furlong.`
He’s the right age, has the right type of body and imagine him with long bleached long hair and a five O’clock shadow.
2. Dave Grohl– `Scott Patrick Green.`
Scott is an actor who played a part in Gus Van Saunts Last Days. He played one of Blakes rocker friends and has the right look and attitude for the part.
3. Courtney Love– ‘Brittney Murphy.`
I am convinced that she would be the absolute PERFECT person for this part, esspecially after seeing her in 8 mile.
4. Krist Novaselic– `Ashton Kutcher.`
If you think about it, Ashton could really pull off the krist novoselic role rather well. I believe he would be great for this part and this would further highlight his talents as an actor.
This film has the potential to be a really great film but it’s all up to whoevers making it. The filmakers should have people from various grunge/punk bands like The Melvins, RHCP, and the Breeders as consultants to ensure that the film keeps its genuine devotion. And I believe the ending should be open to question because there is alot of controversy surrounding Kurt Cobains death. To read about it Go to:www.justiceforkurt.com”
Dude, I agree with that.Edward could definitely pull it off as Kurt Cobain. That would be so awesome, there was a couple of times in ‘The Crow: Wicked Prayer’ where I thought to myself that he looked kinda like Kurt Cobain or some kind of goth rocker, He definitely needs to look into that. As for the others, I don’t agree with Brittney Murphy as Courtney Love or Ashton Kutcher as Krist Novaselic though. I saw ‘Last Days’ and I do agree that Scott Patric Green looks like Dave Grohl but I don’t know much about him other than that.
