New To Theatres This Weekend – Sept. 15, 2006
After a few dull weekends, there are finally a couple movies opening today that I wouldn’t mind catching in theatres. In particular, Brian De Palma’s The Black Dahlia and Tony Goldwyn’s The Last Kiss look to have some potential, even if their Rotten Tomatoes scores don’t currently support that theory. Also, football fans can catch another pigskin pic starring The Rock, and there’s the CGI family flick Everyone’s Hero, which is reportedly the final film project that Christopher Reeve was involved in.

The ‘fall-season’ or whatever looks to far surpass the summer quality-wise. Already Hollywoodland and Black Dahlia and ahead is Children of Men, The Departed and The Prestige… THat’s way more movies than I was excited about during the summer!
Posted by Henrik on September 15th, 2006I’m with Henrik…the fall season is looking much more impressive than the summer ever did. To boot, the summer flicks I was looking forward to were all great disappointments.
I’m particularly looking forward to The Black Dhalia. If it’s anywhere near LA Confidential, it should be worthwhile.
Posted by themarina on September 15th, 2006went to see The Black Dahlia, everyone save your money, it was really slow and boring. Josh Hartnett should not be doing dramas. the only good thing about the movie was the preview for The Departed, the new Scorcese flick with Jack. Oscar for sure!
