Larry Charles To Direct Motley Crue Biopic The Dirt
As we’ve talked about previously, there seem to be an awful lot of musical biopics in the works lately, but for once here’s one that is not trying to be an overdramatic Oscar contender. The Dirt is a notorious biography written about Motley Crue’s rise to stardom, penned by Neil Strauss with the help of all the band members. It tells the story of their early days playing in dives, living in a rundown house full of cockroaches and rats, and partying in excess. Then they got their big break, and they partied even harder! Talk about living the rock n roll life: “Tommy married two international sex symbols; Vince killed a man and lost a daughter to cancer; Nikki overdosed, rose from the dead, and then OD’d again the next day; and Mick shot a woman and tried to hang his own brother. But that’s just the beginning.”
Anyway, the good news is it looks like The Dirt will finally be making its way to the big screen, with the help of Larry Charles, director of the upcoming Borat movie, and the previous dud Masked and Anonymous. Charles has also been involved in TV, with a resume that reads like a list of my all-time favourite shows: Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Tick and Entourage. It will be interesting to see what he can bring to a movie like this. He is clearly a man who knows comedy, so that would seem to indicate to me that the film will not take itself too seriously — a very good move in my opinion. I wonder who will play the members of Motley Crue? I’m adding this one to my list of upcoming movies to watch very closely.

i would be interested to see this one for sure, or any other metal band bio. i am sure that their rise to fame was a crazy trip and i want to go for a ride.

I know they will show thw vince neil car crash and the nikki sixx O-D,and also vince neils daughter passing,Skylar neil,o yey and when tommy lee fall off the drum set when it was spinning,there is so much shit,they may have to make part two,this movie will take a while to make,but when it is finished,i will be a great movie,come on,it is about,drugs,sex and rock ‘n’ roll,the perfect movie.
