First Images Online From Fanboys The Movie
By virtue of its title alone, the movie Fanboys is just asking to be ridiculed here on Film Junk. In theory, I will admit that the idea has potential as sort of like a modern day Revenge of the Nerds (the guy who is directing the movie, Kyle Newman, has already been recruited to direct the upcoming Revenge of the Nerds remake). The thing is, it’s more likely to end up being an even more hip, pop culturey version of Free Enterprise but with reference to Star Wars instead of Star Trek. The movie is about a group of friends who go on a road trip to the Skywalker Ranch to honour a dying friend’s request to see Star Wars: Episode I before its worldwide release.
A handful of images from the movie have just gone online, and here’s the big problem I have with it… these guys don’t look like fanboys! Sure they wear Transformers and G.I. Joe t-shirts, but they look more like potential cast members for the next American Pie installment if you ask me. (Okay, maybe the fat guy passes the test.) It all comes down to the fact that instead of poking fun at fanboys, the movie is going to be winking at them the whole time since they are the target audience. LAME. On the bright side, you do get to see Kristen Bell in a golden bikini. You can check out the image gallery now via the link below.

i dont know about this one at all, it could be interesting or it could be a waste of time. i will check it out, out of interest.

i would make the case though that Jay Baruchel (main character from “undeclared”) is thus, a fit.
