Joel Schumacher Returns To Vampires With Town Creek

I find it a little odd that with all the recent discussion about The Covenant bearing some similarity to Joel Schumacher’s The Lost Boys, suddenly there comes an announcement about Schumacher doing a new vampire flick. I realize that The Covenant was actually about witchcraft rather than vampires, but I’m sure Schumacher figures he can at least do better than a $9 million opening weekend! The movie in question, called Town Creek, has no relation to The Lost Boys whatsoever, but that won’t prevent people from making comparisons. It isn’t about just any old vampire though… it’s about a Nazi vampire! Now I’m interested. A man seeks revenge on a family who helped shelter the vampire, who had held his brother captive for years while feeding off of him. The movie will be produced by Gold Circle Films, using a screenplay written by Dave Kajganich (The Visiting). Schumacher also currently has a few other films on his plate, including The Number 23, starring Jim Carrey and Elizabeth Shue, which is now in post-production.

  1. i dont know how many times i have to say that i love The Lost Boys. i really hope that schumacher doesnt throw in any cheezy references to the Lost Boys in this new one. like i dont want to see the Frogg Bros showing up.
but this sounds interesting so i will give it a shot.

  2. And as much as I love The Lost Boys, I’d LOVE to sit in a theatre watching this new movie and getting a chuckle at TLB references. HAHAHA
