New To Theatres This Weekend – Sept. 8, 2006
Looks like it should be a relatively quiet week at the box office, unless you like Lost Boys rip-offs, Ben Affleck as Superman, or Tony Jaa kicking ass. Actually I am somewhat interested in Hollywoodland and The Protector, but I don’t know if anyone could get me to go see The Covenant at this point. I find it funny that The Protector is noted as having only “Occasional English Subtitles”. Hey, I always thought talking in movies was overrated anyway. The real question this weekend is, do any of these movies have the power to dethrone Mark Wahlberg?

of all movies this summer, why “invincible” has done well, and why “Pirates” has made such massive cash is beyond me.

And although The Covenant IS a total rip off of the best movie ever The Lost Boys (yeah baby!) it still looks like it COULD be fun. I guess we’ll have to wait to see who comes out on top but I think Hollywoodland has it in the bag for this weekend.
