The Sopranos Season 6, Part 1 on DVD in November

The first half of the 6th and final season of The Sopranos is coming to DVD in a couple of months, giving viewers a bit of time to get themselves caught up before the show heads into the home stretch next March (it was originally supposed to air in January, but a knee injury to James Gandolfini reportedly pushed production back). Despite the extended length, I’m not really a fan of how they divided up this last season, especially since the episode that ended the first half on was so obviously not meant to be a season finale. The 4-disc set will contain all 12 episodes, along with some extras such as featurettes and audio commentaries, although full specs have yet to be announced. The Sopranos: Season Six, Part 1 hits stores on November 7th. An HD-DVD version of the set will also hit stores on the same day, making it the first TV series to be released on HD-DVD.

  1. I’m not sure how much fans really need to prepare. I was very disappointed with the first half of the season and unless the second half picks up right off the bat, they’re going to end that great show on a very quiet note rather than the bang it so greatly deserves.

  2. My only other favourite drama series from televsion. Its a great show…they just started season one on TLC last week. Great stuff!!!

  3. if people were smart, just watch the first season on ctv, they running the first half for the next couple of weeks. but if you are a collector, get it!

  4. I agree with “themarina” up there about this great show…

I too hope that it picks up for the final episodes…There’s only so much of a “storyline” that I want to be stuck with…I want to see Tony cleaning house with wise-guys…
