Poster for Paul Feig’s Unaccompanied Minors

Out of the original team that worked on the cult classic TV shows Freaks & Geeks and Undeclared, writer/director Judd Apatow has gone on to make the biggest splash so far in Hollywood, having directed the hugely successful comedy The 40 Year Old Virgin. (Apparently he’s even got Tom Cruise knocking at his door now, which means he must be a hot commodity.) But don’t count out the other Freaks & Geeks mastermind, Paul Feig. He’s spent the last couple of years directing episodes of some of the best shows on TV including Arrested Development, The Office and Weeds, and he also wrote a really funny autobiographical book called Superstud. Now he’s directing a new movie called Unaccompanied Minors, and if all goes well I think it’s going to be a big hit.

The movie is about a group of kids who get snowed in at a Chicago airport on the day after Christmas, away from their families, and decide to stave off boredom together. It’s like Home Alone meets The Breakfast Club meets The Terminal. It definitely has all the makings of a John Hughes classic… minus John Hughes of course. And yes it stars Brett Kelly, aka The Kid from Bad Santa. How can you go wrong? I can’t wait to see a trailer for this movie, but alas it doesn’t hit theatres until December 6th. In the meantime, Ain’t It Cool News got a hold of the first poster for the movie, so follow the link below if you want a closer look.
