Pretty Ugly: The Next Wayans Bros Abomination

Sometimes I don’t know if I should admire the Wayans Brothers or pity them. This talented family has given us some memorable comedic material over the years, such as the blaxploitation parody I’m Gonna Git You Sucka and the popular 90’s variety show In Living Color. Since then however, they have carved out a niche for themselves doing comedies of the worst kind, completely disposable entertainment featuring the lowest brow humour known to man. I don’t know if it’s because they’re not capable of anything better, or if it’s because it’s just easy money for them. I picture them laughing to themselves as they pitch these ludicrous ideas to studios, and then high-fiving each other later when people actually pay money to see this crap at the theatre. How is it possible that Little Man has made $57 million?

Anyway, it looks like the next Wayans Bros project is already in development, with Marlon Wayans set to produce and star in a movie called Pretty Ugly. Wayans will play an attractive lifestyle mogul who falls under a curse that turns him hideously ugly. He must find his inner beauty if he wants to keep his job and his girl. I can’t wait to see what terrible CG or makeup effects they come up with for his deformed face. Strangely, it sounds like this was not a Wayans original idea, but rather just a “fresh take” on an existing project at Dreamworks. No word on who will direct yet, but what are the odds Keenen Ivory Wayans will be busy finally getting his Homey The Clown movie off the ground?

  1. I’d like to see the Wayans take back the travesty that the Scary Movie franchise has become. The fourth one is the worst one by the way with much more few laughs that the third. Anyways….

I think Little Man look stupidingly funny. I think it’ll be better than Snakes on a Plane.

Come on Wayans, take Scary Movie back for that turd Zuckerman.

  2. the wayans i find to be not that funny anymore, they were good on in living colour and thats about it. i mean white chicks, little man, crap!

  3. Never seen “white chicks”, I don’t I want to. But “little man”, may be funny.

  4. aren’t they basically the same movie?

  5. No.

That would be like saying all the Star Wars and Star Trek movies are all the same.
